TestCELPIP
Privacy Policy
This policy describes how information is handled when you use the TestCELPIP Writing beta.
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Information we handle
When you use the Writing beta, we may handle the information you provide to create and use your account, including your email address. We also handle your Writing submissions, task details, word counts, and the practice feedback generated for a submission.
If you buy a membership, we also handle a record of that subscription: which plan it is for, whether it is active, when its billing period ends, and the identifiers that let us match it to your account.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate your account, provide Writing practice, generate and save feedback, show your submission history, give paid members the access they have paid for, maintain the service, and investigate reported problems or misuse.
Payments
Payments are handled by Polar as merchant of record. Polar is the seller for the transaction, not a supplier acting only on our instructions: it decides its own purposes for the transaction data it collects, including invoicing, collecting and remitting sales tax, preventing fraud, and meeting its own accounting and legal obligations. For that data Polar acts as an independent controller in its own right, and its own privacy policy governs it.
Card numbers and other payment credentials go to Polar, never to TestCELPIP. We do not receive them and could not store them if we wanted to.
What we do receive is the confirmation needed to give you access: that a subscription exists, which plan and billing period it covers, its status, and identifiers for the subscription and customer record.
Billing records we keep
We keep a record of the billing messages Polar sends us, so a payment can be reconciled when something goes wrong — for example a subscription that was charged but did not unlock access.
We minimise what those records hold. Payment-instrument details and billing addresses are stripped rather than stored. The stored message content is deleted after 90 days; we keep only the identifiers and status after that, which is what reconciliation actually needs.
Where a payment problem needs a person to look at it, the alert we raise carries record identifiers rather than your email address or any payment detail.
Service providers
TestCELPIP uses service providers to operate account authentication, data storage, and AI-assisted feedback. Those providers process information only as needed to provide their services to TestCELPIP. Polar is described separately above because its role in a purchase is different from theirs.
Your choices
You can choose not to submit a Writing response. If you create an account, you may ask about access to or deletion of your account information by using the contact page. Please do not include sensitive personal, financial, medical, immigration, or legal information in a practice response.
Deleting your account does not erase the record that a payment happened. We keep the minimum needed to meet accounting obligations and to handle a refund or chargeback, and Polar keeps its own records as the seller.
Updates
We may update this policy as the beta changes. The current version and its update date will be posted on this page.
